My Story

This time twenty years ago I was in Basra, Iraq.  In 2008 and then again in 2011 I was in Helmand, Afghanistan. I was very lucky, I emerged from all three tours unscathed.  Some of my friends and colleagues did not and the support of organisations like SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity  can make a real difference to them and their families.

This year I am taking on the D-Day Ride in 2024 for SSAFA.  I'll be riding 240 miles over 3 days to raise money for SSAFA and mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day.  Please help me reach my target of £1,950 and support our Armed Forces community!

I support SSAFA because they support members of all three services and recognise the impact of impact of service life on families in their name and actions.  SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity is a trusted source of practical, emotional, and financial support for serving personnel, veterans and their families in their time of need.

SSAFA understands that behind every uniform is a person. And they are here for that person and their family, any time they are needed and in any way.

D-Day 80 is a tumultuous event that provides me with a great deal of inspiration.  I am no cyclist but I thought it was important to take on a challenge befit of the sacrifices made by so many for us all.

Thank you for your support. It means a great deal to me.
